West Ham @ 2.08 (Pinnacle)

West Ham will welcome Blackburn Rovers at Upton Park. In the beginning of the season majority would say that West Ham will be higher in the standings that Blackburn Rovers. But reality is cruel for West Ham, they sit in the 16th place and have 7 points less than Blackburn Rovers who occupy 11th place in the standings.

Blackburn Rovers is a small team with a small budget but somehow they still manage to do reasonably well in the league. The majority of points came from their home fixtures so they are a clear home side. Away from home they have been poor, Blackburn has one of the worst away records in the league. In midweek Blackburn got a very tough and important win against Wigan, so in this fixture against West Ham they may not be as hungry and players will not be as motivated as they should be, plus they are playing away from home. David Dunn, who has recently singed a new deal with Blackburn and who is a key player for Blackburn is doubtful for this game and it would not surprise me if Big Sam will not risk this player today.

This is absolutely crucial fixture for West Ham. They are playing at home and Blackburn is more than beatable at this circumstances. West Ham will be absolutely delighted by the takeover. The new owners promised to invest money in the team which is a great news for fans and everybody surrounding the team. New owners also said that they will do their best to make sure that West Ham will play their home games in London's Olympic stadium. Other good news is that West Ham will have some key players returning from injuries. Ilunga, Parker and Cole should be available for this fixture.

Wigan Athletic will welcome Everton at The DW Stadium. Not long ago these teams were neighbors in the standings, but were able to get few good results in a row and now they occupy 9th place with 9 points separating them form European places. Wigan currently occupy 14th place with 22 points.

Wigan has been very unpredictible this season. Sometimes they were able to get a decent result coming into the match as a big underdog and sometimes struggled to get a result coming into the match as a favorites. It has to be mentioned that Wigan Athletic has one of the lowest attendance in the league, this just goes to tell you that fans are not very optimistic about their team at the moment. So the home advantage doesn't count in this case. Last week wasn't very good for Wigan Athletic. They were almost dropped out of the FA Cup by League Two side Notts County and after that suffered a dissapointing defeat away to Blackburn Rovers.

Everton is on a high at the moment. They improved a lot in the last few weeks and the morale of the team is very high at the moment. Injury problems are beginning to ease with most of important players coming back from injuries. Everton now has a streak of two very good wins in a row. First of they defeated Man City with a commanding performance and then defeated struggling Sunderland. Everton will come into this match with a great vibe surrounding the team, the morale is high and the players are hungry. It will be very difficult for Wigan to get something out of this game.

Two teams with different fortunes will meet at Stade Louis II in Monaco. These teams find themselves in different positions coming into this fixture. Nice are sitting near the relegation zone, 6 points clear of the relegation zone. While Monaco has been in blistering form their last 3 league games. However this is a local derby and Monaco may find it tough to brake the opposition down. Everything is possible in a derby match. Monaco showed us a lot of times that they can't be trusted as heavy favorites. Monaco has poor attendance level in their stadium, so there won't be a lot of supporters. Nice got some players back from AFC, so they might play better than in previous fixtures.

Espanyol will welcome Athletic Bilbao at El Prat Stadium. Espanyol have been very inconsistent this year. This is a result of poor transfer campaign last summer when they failed to strenghten their ranks. As a result Espanyol has a tough season sitting in the lower part of the table 13 points away from European places. The football that Espanyol plays this season is not eye-catching and they often fail to hold the pressure. Athletic Bilbao should be very dissapointed with loss to Deportivo in last round. The team started the match very well and should have led 3-0 by the 30th minute. However they failed to take their chances and payed for that. Athletic Bilbao is a strong team with well-balanced defense and attack.. Bilbao will be hungry for a win in this match. This is a battle between two even sides and Athletic Bilbao is slightly overpriced in my eyes.
