  1. ANDRE:

Play: Single Dime Play on Over 9.5

    Comments: NY METS (11 - 13) at ATLANTA (11 - 14)

Tuesday, 5/5/2009 7:10 PM LIVAN HERNANDEZ ® vs. KENSHIN KAWAKAMI ®

The Mets can't build a decent streak as they are 5-5 L10 games however their offense is starting to show some expected progress. The Mets scored 7, 4, 3, 5, 5 and 6 runs in the last 5 games and taking in account that the Braves are sending Kenshin Kawakami to the mound I expect this good run to keep it going.

Kawakami had a decent start by beating the lowly Nationals but since then he couldn't repeat such performance. Last outing was his worst start of the season vs. Cincinnati when he allowed eight runs and eight hits, including two homers, in just 4 2/3 innings. In fact he allowed at least one home run in each his 4 starts and with 11 walks for 21 2/3 innings Kawakami is a pretty hittable pitcher and facing the potent offense of the Mets I don't expect Kawakami to have a great night.

However the same can be said about Mets' pitcher Livan Hernandez. Like Kawakami, Hernadez had a strong start by beating the Marlins on the road but since then he struggled in three consecutive outings allowing 4, 7 and 3 runs. Hernandez has horrible numbers vs. Atlanta with dismal numbers 5-15 and 5.26 ERA and by not showing any kind of improvement in the past outings I don't expect suddenly Hernandez to roll tonight. With two struggling pitchers on the mound I expect this ballgame to be a slugfest.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on Over 9.5 @ 2.05 on Pinnacle

  2. Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) - 10:35 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Point Spread: -8.5 Los Angeles Lakers Play Title:
5* NBA Playoffs Second Rd GOTY (TNT) on Lakers -8.5 Expect the Lakers to send a message to Houston in Game 1. LA is 4-0 against Houston this season, winning in its 2 home games by 29 and 12 points respectively. The Lakers beat the Jazz by double digits in 4 of the five games in their first round series, including all 3 games at home, and the Jazz is a team which posed more problems for LA because of its athleticism. The Blazers had no answer for Yao Ming in round one, but the Lakers have two mobile scoring threats on the block in Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol that will give the big man trouble on both ends of the floor. The Rockets are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings. The Lakers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a favorite of 5.0-10.5. Here's the clincher: plays against road underdogs of 3.5 to 9.5 points revenging a loss vs. an opponent of 10 points or more, playing with 3 or more days rest, are 73-36 ATS since 1996. Pound the Lakers.

    Hacettepe Vs Galatasaray

    May 1, 2009

With five games left to the end, Hacettepe Ankara, are practically relegated already. They have won against Istanbul Büyüksehir 2:1 last week but still the gap to place 15 are 13 points. So they know already that they play for nothing really but to showcase their talent in the last games before moving down. Therefore I dont expect a big fight and 11 men at the back defending the goal which is already not their playing style, but a team that will search the opponents goal and offer sth the fans.

Galatasary has gone very good for a very long time and is very unlucky that they are going through a low in such an important phase. While Fenerbahce still has the cup as last option Galatasary must get a second place at least for the CL and thats what they are playing for. Last week they couldnt win against Ankaraspor in their own stadium and drawed 1:1, so this is one they should win must win you can call it how you want. I believe in a nice game where Hacettepe can also score 1-2 goals and therefore the option will be Over 2,5 .

    Hacettepe Vs Galatasary

    Picks: 1 x 2 Away

    Total goals Over 2.5

    Austria Vienna Vs Mattersburg

    May 1, 2009

Mattersburg havent won away from home all season and havent scored in their last three aways: Austria Vienna have only lost once at home this season. The probable clincher is that Mattersburg havent won at the Franz Horr in thirteen meetings going back to 2003; its worth noting that three of the last five corresponding fixtures have been draws.

    Picks: Handicap Austria Vienna -1.25

  4. Game: Philadelphia at Pittsburgh (7:00 PM Eastern)

    Pick: Philadelphia +150 (moneyline)

The Flyers were never in game one as the Penguins dominated from start to finish, and never had to worry. The fate and resolve of the Flyers will certainly be more apparent in this one. They have lived up to those words on the season, as they have followed-up a horrible loss of three goals or more with an 18-7 mark. They have also followed-up a two goal or less offensive performance with a 19-7 mark. The Penguins have been hot at home, but the last team to take them down in this building was the Flyers, and I expect them to answer the bell for game two. The Flyers get the call here
  5. Game: Montreal at Boston (7:10 PM Eastern)

Pick: Boston -1.5 goals +140 (puckline)

The Bruins have been a dominant home team this season, while Montreal has struggled on the road. The Bruins went through a stretch this season on home ice where they accomplished an amazing feat. They went through a period at home where if they won the game, it was by two goals or more. That streak was 13 games! That is not easy to do in the NHL. In fact, the streak was 19 of 21 home wins by two or more. It is hard to pass up the puck line here with those numbers, and I'll back Boston on the puckline as well.
  6. Game: Philadelphia at Pittsburgh (7:00 PM Eastern)

    Pick: Pittsburgh -155 (moneyline)

The Penguins will begin their quest to get back to the Stanley Cup Championship where they lost to the Redwings last season. Their opponent, Philadelphia, started the season winless over their first six games, but regrouped, got hot and went 18-8 over their next 26. However, reality is over the last 52 games they have barely been better than a breakeven team. The Penguins left many doubts with their lethargic mid-season play, but they finished looking like a team ready to repeat last season's run, closing at 16-5. The difference for them was clamping down on defense and strong goaltending on home ice. The Penguins allowed just 11 goals in their last seven home games, just 1.57 a game. Flyers are just 16-40 in their last 56 on the road vs a home team with a greater than .600 winning percentage, while the Penguins sport a stellar 21-5 mark as a home favorite of -151 to -200 in their last 26. Tight defense and excellent goaltending has been the trademark of the Penguins down the

stretch, and I'll take them here.
