International Day of Older Persons

Good day. Today I am going to speak about the international day of older persons. As you know, this day is marked on first October and one of the purposes of such a day is to incorporate higher age citizens into our society that they could satisfy their emotional needs and requirements.

From my point of view, there is a huge number of problems, difficulties and other disadvantages which older people suffer in their every day lives in my country. Obviously, not each of them feels discriminated, isolated or depressed, but most of them do not have as much positive moments as they could.

In Lithuania there is not a wide variety of treatment forms for elder subjects because the government does not pay enough attention to this group of people. For instance, the average disability pension in my country reaches only 766 litas and I assume that it is probably the main reason why people fell angry and miserable. Fortunately, there is nothing better than a family. If you have people who will bring you a glass of water whenever you need, than you must not get any benefits or money to feel satisfied or happy.

It is said that there always exists a gap between the different generations. However, I agree with this statement almost one hundred percent. This problem arise because different age people also think in different ways, their hobbies are not the same, their free time activities are various. Moreover, even their thinking is highly different and without any similarities. For these reasons, I do not think that there are any solutions which could erase this gap between the groups.

To sum up, I would like to say that even if we can not erase the gap between two different generations I believe that we can make this gap narrower. By doing this, we could create a society without any discrimination, derision and where everyone feels appreciated, needful and beloved. And I wish that after fifty years I would live in a community like this.

Positive and negative aspects of having a part time job while studying

Many students nowadays do not decide if they should get a part time job or not while are on studies. It is argued that working after lectures can make your learning process weaker and you could not concentrate on your sciences as good as previously, but on the other hand, an additional source of money can help you breathe easier. However, is it worth finding a part time job while studying or it is not?

There is a list of advantages to working after your lectures. To start with, having a part time job can give you an opportunity to do some money for a living. By doing this, you could feel calm and do not worry about unpaid taxes or other difficulties. Another advantage is that doing any kind of job gives you a chance to interact with interesting people, expand your communication skills and you can gain a lot of relevant experience which could be used in the near future.

However, there is also an opposite list of disadvantages to having a part time job while you are a student. Firstly, if you choose to spend you free time by working and getting some extra coins you will not have enough time to make your source of knowledge deeper. In this case, you will become unqualificated and will not get the job which suits your availabilities after the studies. Secondly, the part time job during your free time and the time that should be wasted by relaxing or meeting with your friends can make you feel tired, depressed, angry or ill.

Overall, there are a high number of strong points both for and against getting a part time job while you are studying. All in all, to work or not is an everyone’s decision and everybody is able choose the best way in his live.
