supranti cia yra kovojama del 2 komandos' date=' nes Rytas dabar dalyvauja eurolygoje kaip ULEB laimetojas. Jiems bent reikia patekti i final4, jeigu nori ir kitamet gauti vardini kvietima. Jeigu nepateks tai saznai likti lygoje mazeja ir toliau jie losh ULEB. Taip atsitiko priesh pora metu Pamesa, laimejusi ULEB, jie pateko i eurolyga, ten ishejo iki TOP16, toliau nepavyko, o kita sezona vel zaide ULEBE.

Va tame reikalas kad ten politka ju kad kuo daugiau $ gautu,tai jiem geriau pakviesti kokia prancuzu ar vokieciu koman da kuri daugiau $ negu lietuviai gali padeti...

At last 2005 is over... One more year for us – Lithuanians and this year will be written into Lithuania‘s basketball history. Basketball is second religy in Lithuania and we should be glad that 2005 was successful. Firstly, Lithuania‘s youth team triumph (World U-21 Champions). They proved that Lithuanian basketball is one of the best in all over the World. Secondly, European men‘s basketball championship, where weren‘t any Lithuanian leaders like S.Jasikevicius, A.Macijauskas, D.Songaila, S.Stombergas, E.Zukauskas and other who unfortunately couldn‘t play this year. But team lost only in a querterfinal so they won 5th place and will participate in World men‘s basketball championship 2006. Finally, one of the best Kaunas “Zalgiris’s” season and historical Vilnius “Lietuvos Rytas’s” debut in most prestigious European league – Euroleague…

Even we all know that at first debut wasn’t successful, but when second round is started we all clearly see the result – TOP 16 is easily achievable. That was the main their ambition in the beginning of the season. But we are Lithuanians so appetite comes with eating – now we want to stay in the first place in the group. After that is going to be ambitions about being in Final four. Nice to dream about this, but all Europe saw that this is not only utopia – “Barcelona’s” ambitions to come back in the Europe’s elite were delayed, ‘unbeatable’ ‘Efes Pilsen” boys were forced to change their nicknames, “Maccabi” were knocked out from the top of basketball… “Prokom Trefl” couldn’t bite “Lietuvos Rytas”, “Siemens” arena and all Lithuania saw that lost game to “Cibona” was only the result of debut’s thrill. So, I’d like to see anybody, who could say that “Lietuvos Rytas” isn’t deserved to play in Euroleague next year!

However, we should remember gentlemen, who once have decided that next season it will be only one place in Euroleague for Lithuania! Then we could take issue – nevertheless Kaunas “Zalgiris” is more preferable to represent Lithuania in Euroleague… They do it successfully not first year. However, they were Euroleague champions (in 1999)! They have got a good name, everyone knows that “Zalgiris” players were is and will be one of the best in Europe (remember Arvydas Sabonis (222-C-64), who recently finished his career, Darjus Lavrinovic (212-C-79), Paulius Jankunas (204-F-84) etc.). Finally, “Zalgiris” is a history of Lithuania! So Lithuanians have to take pride of them.

Now gentlemen, who manage Euroleague must be worried. They decided to give a place in this league for more famous team – Kaunas ‘Zalgiris’. Yippee! I’d have done it too if I were them and I wouldn’t leave any chances to take part in Euroleague for “Lietuvos Rytas”… It looks like that a “mistake” had been made – we will see Vilnius’s team in Euroleague provided that they win elite league in this season. At the beginning of the season nobody believed that, but now their triumph isn’t only a dream of team’s fans.

So we have the offer – two Lithuanian basketball clubs, who are not incidentally group leaders. We need possibilities – two Lithuanian clubs in Euroleague… I don’t say that anybody should take away this privilege from France, Germany or other teams, who should more practice in ULEB cup, just professionally think about it gentlemen, just think about that. We, Lithuanians, aren’t egoists, so we’d like to split one of the best view in the World – Kaunas “Zalgiris’s” and Vilnius “Lietuvos Rytas’s” duel. I’m sure you would be happy seeing this!
