Karlovic vs Monfils

First let's take a look at how this guys have played so far :

Karlovic won

6-3 6-4 vs Bjorkman , but the way Bjorkman played this year can't say it's a big win

7-6 7-6 vs Querrey , service duel , Karlovic won at 3 and at 14 the tiebreaks.

6-3 3-6 6-4 vs Seppi , a match that could have gone either way, but Seppi didn't find his rhytm at first serve.

Monfils won

7-6 6-4 vs Guccione , a big server , he managed to win 35% points on Guccione serve

3-6 6-4 6-2 vs Benneteau , another good server , won 38% on his serve breaking him 4 times

7-6 6-2 vs Spadea , a good performance against the veteran winning 41% of the points against serve.

Karlovic is the defending champ here , but it seems that he isn't at the same level he was last year.Last year he served 64 aces until the semis and never got broken . This year with 61 aces , he already got broken and saved a couple more break points , even though he had some weaker opponents IMO.

Monfils already has a 2-0 H2H advantage , one of the wins coming this year.

I expect a good reply from Monfils , and the odds are simply worth it .

Dementieva vs Safina

Not gonna say much about this match , Dementieva almost beat Safina at RG , and faster surfaces , like this one , clearly advantages Dementieva more . Safina leads 4-2 H2H , but all her wins are on clay .

Federer vs Soderling

 

I wasn't impressed by either player's performance in the first round. Federer did his usual , didn't force to much , but a couple of mistakes at his serve&volley game , which against a better opponent would have been costly .

Didn't saw Soderling's match but to loose 6-0 a set against Kim is just bad.

Soderling has a good serve and if he will improve his procentage today he will put some heat on Federer , like he did in the only meeting between the 2 on grass , at Halle when he lost 7-6 6-7 4-6.

I don't see Federer such a big favourite like the bookies show him , i think Soderling may push him to tiebreaks at least in one set , and why not win one ?

My pick :

Over games 29.5 games @ 1.75 Mansion with 8 units ( can't find a better bookie now , you can look better later at pinnacle )

 

Berdych vs Hanescu

I believe it will be an insult if Hanescu manages to win a set against Berdych today. Berdych needs a shorter match after that long match in the first round , Hanescu had very poor performances this year , and grass was never his favourite , though he's tall enough to make serve&volley.

Also Hanescu has big mental problems , if he will go 2-0 down he will loose 3-0 , because he always gives up mentally . Happened with Gasquet in his meetings though it was Davis cup .

Hanescu is 6-4 in DC , but that's because all his wins are against clay-courters or players in qualifiers : Chiudinelli , Daniel , Portas , Chela .

Even if Hanescu will manage to push him in a tiebreak , i don't see how he will manage to win it .

For me :

Berdych 3-0 @ 2.10 stanjames with 6 units

 

 

Baghdatis vs Johansson

With all due respect to the veteran but his time is up , on grass i saw him and he isn't the guy that made it to the semis in 2005.Since then he can't find his rhytm on grass , he lost 8 out of the 10 matches played , and the only match he won on the court was the first round match against Spadea , the other was an injury.He lost 6-1 6-2 against Cilic without showing anything good on grass.

Baghdatis can finally play at his best level , the match against Johansson should be easier than the one against Darcis.

For me :

Baghdatis 3-0 @ 2.10 stanjames with 8 units

and

Baghdatis (-6.5 games ) @ 1.85 partybets with 6 units

Vaidisova @ 1.725 with 6 units pinnacle
